InterContinental Brisbane Opens with a Signature Scent by Air Aroma
The city of Brisbane is experiencing a boom in hotel development and investment in the city’s bright future, ahead of hosting the 2032 Olympics. As Australia further solidifies its position as a coveted global destination, the influx of luxury five-star hotels coming to the region (like Fairmont Port Douglas and Waldorf Astoria) choose Air Aroma as their scenting partner. The first InterContinental hotel in Australia for several years, and the first in the city of Brisbane; InterContinental Brisbane has partnered with Air Aroma for a signature scent, proving this forward thinking property is mindful of its guest experience and values the power of scent in luxury hospitality.
“To be part of Brisbane’s transformation ahead of the 2032 Olympics and Paralympics is a privilege, particularly in helping to shape its tourism and hospitality scene by offering an exciting, culturally rich stay experience for local and international guests alike,” said InterContinental Brisbane General Manager, Shaun Parsons.
Honouring a Legacy
Transforming one of the city’s most iconic buildings, InterContinental Brisbane is primely positioned in the city’s CBD on Elizabeth Street. It seamlessly integrates the Regent Theatre and Wintergarden retail and dining, while the reimagined design honours the legacy of the building. World-renowned modernist architect Harry Seidler designed the building—the only hotel in Australia of his —though his legacy includes several other landmark structures across the region. Known for its iconic towering atrium, one of the tallest in the Southern Hemisphere, the building previously existed as Hilton Brisbane and has been reimagined to accommodate the luxurious reputation of the InterContinental brand.
